On May 11, 2017 associate professor of the " Social-humanitarian disciplines" Department R. Karimov conducted an open talk with the students of UWED on the topic of "Life and works of Abul Muyin al-Nasafiy".
On May 13, 2017 the second stage of selection of the best startup projects for the "Startup initiative" competition took place in the form of an interview in UWED. There were 46 projects proposed by UWED students. 19 out of 46 projects were invited to the interview.

On May 3, 2017 within the framework of the events dedicated to the language and culture of the Arab countries, a seminar was held on the topic: “Culture of Arab countries and dialects of the Arabic language”.
In the information and resource center of the University of world economy and diplomacy, a book exhibition was held, which was dedicated to May 9 – The Day of Memory and Honor.
