At present, full-scale reforms in the sphere of Higher Education are being carried out in our country.  The process of training highly qualified personnel is given high priority and was raised to a qualitatively new level where strong emphasis was laid on modern knowledge, high moral and ethical qualities as well as renovation strategies in the system of Higher Education. These days the development of the social sphere and the economy, based on advanced educational technologies is in full swing. At the same time, the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic has had a serious impact on the education system. However, due to timely measures undertaken by the state, there were no pauses in educational process and in a short period of time in our country distance learning has been established and is being successfully carried out now.

In this regard, the XIII traditional scientific-practical conference " Language teaching, interpretation and translation issues in the training of specialists for foreign policy and foreign economic relations ", was hosted by the University of World Economy and Diplomacy on December 16th. More than 60 abstracts from educators from more than 10 universities have been submitted to appear in the conference proceedings and more than 40 professors and teachers took part in the event.

The conference was opened by Gulnoza Ismailova the Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation of the UWED. She noted that one of the urgent tasks now is training of interpreters as well as further improvement of the language education system. The Vice-Rector laid special emphasis on a new approach to language teaching based on world experience. G.S. Ismailova also mentioned the relevance of the issues discussed at the conference, and expressed confidence that the results of this scientific and practical conference will give a fresh impetus for solving the problems that higher education system faces these days.

Rakhmatullaeva, Associate Professor of the Department of Uzbek and Russian Languages ​​of the UWED; Dr. Sh. Subkhonova;  Professor of the UWED Dr. B.A. Samadov.   

The conference proceeded in a friendly atmosphere of scientific discussion.
