On January 19, 2019, the faculty of International Economic Relations organized a scientific and methodological seminar on the use of the international scientific bases such as  Science Direct and Scopus.

The purpose of the seminar is to inform the faculty, PhD students and young researchers about the international requirements for the design of scientific research results and the preparation of articles for publication in international journals and scientific collections.

The practical need for such a seminar is dictated by the fact that researchers, especially those who are working on thesis, often have difficulty in publishing scientific articles in foreign journals due to a lack of awareness of their requirements.

The class was led by Aliya Ospanova - Regional Director of Elsevier * for Central Asia and Azerbaijan.

The training seminar was held on a high scientific and methodological level, according to the opinion of its participants, and it will contribute to improve the quality of scientific research done by researchers and scholars at UWED and their successful publication in foreign journals, including the Elsevier system.

Researchers have received specific recommendations in the search and analysis of scientific journals included in the Scopus database, as well as planning research activities using Internet resources.

* Elsevier is one of the four largest scientific publishing houses, which annually publishes about a quarter of all articles from scientific journals published in the world.
