Lecture at the UWED of the Vice-Rector of the Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy

Ms. Vafa Kazdal, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of the Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy, held an interactive lecture in English on the topic: “Future of Education: Factors shaping future education today”, which brought together a large number of interested people students - teachers, doctoral students, masters and bachelors.
This meeting was organized with the active assistance of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Uzbekistan. In her speech, she noted that her visit was carried out in the framework of earlier agreements on cooperation between the UWED and the Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy (ADA) in the framework of the exchange of professors to give lectures in the field of foreign policy and international trade.
They also discussed issues of further enhancing cooperation between the UWED and the ADA, considered the issues of holding joint scientific and practical conferences, symposia and seminars on pressing issues of international relations and world trade with the participation of leading experts.
During the lecture, students were introduced to the educational policy of the ADA in administrative matters, teacher education, the development of educational programs, their implementation and evaluation, as well as language and identity.
The basic principles of university programs aimed at improving the overall effectiveness and quality of academic programs, as well as new approaches to the development and implementation of academic policy in accordance with the basic requirements of the ADA, are explained in detail.
As noted in her lecture Phd. Doktor. V.Kazdal: “We see our graduates as supporters of changes in teaching, management and policy development in the field of education and strive to become not only a national, but also a global resource for research that will help identify the latest and most innovative trends in this area.”
During the discussion, the lecturer answered numerous questions of students, noting and appreciating their linguistic knowledge of the English language.
(For reference: Dr. Wafa Kazdahl joined ADA in 2009 as director of the English for Academic and Professional Purposes program. She has developed various English programs, including English for diplomats, academic and professional English for graduate students, and one-year basic English for students, as well as various individual programs in English.In 2012, she became dean of the School of Arts and Humanities, which introduced the first of its kind humanitarian program sciences in the country. Her next career step took place in 2014, when she became dean of the School of Education, including the program "English for Academic and Professional Purposes", "Arts and Humanities", as well as programs for graduates and diplomas in the field of Leadership in teacher education and continuing education Before joining ADA, she was director of the Center for Academic Reading and Writing and professor of applied linguistics at Azerbaijan University of Languages. She has a master’s degree in English language study and teaching techniques from the University of Warwick, UK, and a doctorate in pedagogical sciences from Azerbaijan University of Languages. She is also the recipient of professional development awards such as the Junior Teacher Development Program (Indiana University, Bloomington, USA), Oxford Hospitality Program (Oxford University, UK), Ronald and Eileen Weiser Professional Development (University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA).
