On April 15, the University of World Economy and Diplomacy hosted XII annual conference on "The issues of language education, translation and interpretation in training specialists for foreign policy and foreign economic relations".

In his opening speech Vice-Rector M.T. Bakoev mentioned significance of the issues identified in the conference agenda. In particular, it was said about language proficiency and the role of literary reading in language education. The importance of mastering at least three languages for the UWED students was highlighted as well. In the course of the conference some measures to increase students’ interest to learning were proposed.                                        

University Vice-Rector S.Saidkasimov also noted the relevance of the issues discussed at the conference. Attracting the participants' attention to such issues as speech culture, and the art of public speaking, he emphasized the importance of mastering a State language along with the Russian language as the language that can be used in modern society as a source of information.

The presentations of keynote speakers were of great interest  to the audience. Among the keynote speaker were  the head of the Innovation Center at UzSWLU  M. T. Iriskulov, G. Gleason an honorary professor at the University of  New Mexico, K.О. Saparova an associate professor of the Department of Modern Russian Language of UzSWLU, Sh.U. Normatova an associate professor of the  Department of Uzbek and Russian Languages, A.Kh. Aripova an associate professor of the Language Department of Tashkent State Law University, Kh. Akhmadjonov a teacher of English of the UWED. 

The conference was held in a friendly atmosphere of scientific discussion.
