These days, the media and analytical circles are actively discussing the state visit of our President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the French Republic. In creating a favorable atmosphere for the successful passage of this political event, a special place has a competent presentation of the general public of opinions about its essence and significance for both states. In this process, high professionalism is required precisely from political commentators, journalists and political science experts.

Today, on this occasion, a meeting was held between a representative of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Uzbekistan, a doctor of political science, a graduate of the UWED, Sardor Usmanov, and 4-year students of the faculty of International Relations. At the meeting, students, in addition to listening to a lecture devoted to relations between the two states, like future international affairs specialists, exchanged views with the professor on the visit, its significance and on its coverage to the general public.

At the beginning of his lecture, speaking about the history and current state of relations between Uzbekistan and France, the professor focused on the need for their comprehensive analysis and real evaluation. It was noted that, owing to certain objective political realities, diplomatic, cultural and, most of all, trade and economic relations between the two states turned out to be at a low, incompatible potential of both states. This visit, which was organized at the invitation of the head of state of France, is aimed at intensifying intercourse. Here the lecturer dwelled on the tasks facing the Uzbek diplomacy for the further development of existing promising relations. “Even many French analysts claim that a favorable geopolitical situation has arisen for France to strengthen ties with Uzbekistan,” said Professor Usmanov, noting the interest of both parties in raising relations to a new level.

According to the professor, the media has a special place in ensuring the effectiveness of such important political events. He further expressed his views on the work carried out in the Uzbek media in this area, pointing out their achievements, mistakes and shortcomings. At the end of the meeting, students received from the professor comprehensive answers to their questions. At the end of the meeting, the professor expressed his warm wishes to the current generation of UWED students and his readiness to provide comprehensive assistance in the development of his alma mater.
