The  foreign policy, mutually beneficial and constructive interaction are primarily based on international legal norms and contractual basis of international cooperation. On April 27, 2018 the University of World Economy and Diplomacy hosted the IX Republican Conference on "Actual Issues of International Law: Theory and Practice", dedicated to above-mentioned issues. Leading experts and scholars in international law, international relations, and economics have participated in the conference. The event was attended by members of the Chambers of Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, representatives of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Supreme Court, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Ministry of Justice, other ministries and departments, scientists and young researchers.

The key priorities within the framework of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On the Strategy for the Further Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan", which maintained the county development 2017-2021, have been discussed during the Conference. Among them were the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Measures for Strengthening the Accountability of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Implementing the Priorities of Foreign Policy and Foreign Economic Activity", the decree "On organizational measures for further improvement of activity of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan’. Moreover, other crucial issues and practice of international law in Uzbekistan, the issues of compliance of international treaties with the national legislation, the questions regarding the improvement of the international treaty practice of the Republic of Uzbekistan and its legal foundations, the legal aspects of the international economic relations of the country, the right of innovation the promotion of tourism, the promotion and mutual protection of investments,  the international legal aspects of the framework of the World Trade Organization (WTO), dispute settlement issues, improvement the activity of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs consular functions, peace and stability in the region, particularly in Afghanistan,  have been scrutinized during the Conference.

The outcomes and recommendations of the Conference will be published as a separate collection of conference materials.
