Annual conference on "Actual issues of international law: theory and practice"

On 28th April 2017, VIII traditional conference on "Actual issues of International Law: Theory and Practice" was held at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy. The event was attended by the deputies of Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, representatives of ministries, agencies, civil society institutes, and academic staff of HEIs of Uzbekistan, as well as by researchers and students of the UWED.

At the conference the participants were able to exchange ideas on actual theoretical and practical issues of contemporary international law, on the role of national Parliament in the carrying out mutually beneficial and constructive foreign policy, and its development prospects in accordance with the Strategy for the Further Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as to get acquainted with the UNESCO's experience in the development of international legal norms in the field of education. Moreover, during the event some of the issues of the international legal protection of intellectual property, the problematic issues of drafting and examining of trade and investment agreements of the Republic of Uzbekistan, institutional rivalry issues in post-Soviet space in the context of its impact on the national interests of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the international experience of resolving territorial issues related to enclaves were discussed.
