The Decree of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoev on “The Strategy for Actions on five priority areas for the development of Uzbekistan in 2017-2021” has been studied during the curator’s hour in UWED on April 12th, 2017. The Decree highlights five priority areas of the country's development. The large-scale objectives related to the following priorities were scrutinized by the students. The first component of the Strategy such as "Improving the system of state and public construction" aimed at deepening the democratic reforms and modernizing of the society as well as strengthening the role of political parties in democratic reforms was considered as an important issue. In the second section "Priority areas in ensuring the rule of law and further reforms of the judicial and legal system," where the important tasks are to ensure the true independence of the judiciary, the truthful guarantee of the protection of citizens' rights and freedoms, the improvement of administrative, criminal, civil and economic legislation were presented. The third section "Priority directions in the improvement and liberalization of the economy" said about further ensuring the stability of macroeconomics, modernization and diversification of leading sectors of the national economy and modernization of agriculture. The fourth part "Priority areas for the development of the social sphere," explained the increase in employment and real income, the construction of cheap housing, the development of education and science, the improvement of state youth policy. And the final fifth section is “Security, inter-ethnic harmony and religious tolerance, implementation of balanced, mutually beneficial and constructive foreign policy”. The content of the Decree has been comprehensively studied by the curators and students.
