June 3-10 this year Senior fellow of the Institute for Advanced International Studies Hamza Boltaev and UWED PhD student Islomkhon Gafarov visited the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The purpose of the trip was to study at the Institute for Global Sustainable Development of the University of Warwick on June 5-9, 2023.

As part of the study, which was organized under the guidance of the Director of the Institute for Global Sustainable Development E.Korosteleva, lectures were held with the participation of leading scientists from the University of Warwick, as well as partner institutions: S.Panichelli-Batalla, V.Pitidis, S.Soubes, H.Wilson, D.Chapman, K.Ennew, I.Kelman and others, which were devoted to various aspects of sustainable development. In addition, the participants of the school made individual presentations on research topics. H.Boltaev, the senior fellow of the Institute for Advanced International Studies, presented his work there. The theme of H.Boltaev was aimed at important aspects of regional cooperation, as well as the role of Afghanistan in the interconnection of regions.

UWED PhD student I.Gafarov also made a presentation. The theme of I.Gafarov was directed to “The role of Uzbekistan in the interconnectedness of the regions of Central and South Asia”. It was said about the role of transport corridors, such as Termez-Mazar-i-Sharif-Kablul-Peshawar, the North-South International Transport Corridor and Chabahar, the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway.

In general, studies at the Institute for Global Sustainable Development served as a good program to improve the skills of UWED and IAIS staff, and also contributed to expanding cooperation with the University of Warwick.
