From May 23 to May 31 Vice-rector of UWED Gulnoza Ismailova visited the University of Lund (https://www.lunduniversity.lu.se/). The main purpose of the visit was to expand the partnership with the University of Lund under the Erasmus+, issues of implementation of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the two universities, exchange programs for students and academic staff, and interchanging material and technical data.

(University in the city of Lund in southern Sweden, founded in 1666, and is one of the oldest educational institutions in the world. It has nine faculties plus several interdisciplinary research institutes, centers, and institutions. Lund University is one of the top 100 universities in the world (95th) according to QS Ranking (https://www.topuniversities.com/universities/lund-university))

On May 23, the Department of Sociology of Law at Lund University organized a seminar for foreign researchers of the project "Central Asian Law: Legal Cultures and business environment in Central Asia". During the seminar, G.Ismailova explained the significance of the recent constitutional reform in Uzbekistan on the way to accelerate the implementation of integration projects, gradual liberalization of all spheres of social life and creation of legal and democratic foundations for building a strong state.

The project "Central Asian Law: Legal Cultures and business environment in Central Asia" is a collaboration between six European universities and six Central Asian partners, and is aimed at tackling such questions as: Will the laws and rules that govern market relationships in the West are also applicable to the Central Asian region where everyday life and social relations revolve around informal practices and transactions? How do national and international laws, norms and (written and unwritten) rules come to interplay and shape the business environment in the five post-Soviet republics of Central Asia?

G.Ismailova also became acquainted with the conditions created for students at Lund University, the educational process and its organization and the structure and material-technical base of the university.

In the last days of her visit, G.Ismailova met with compatriots who study, work and live in Lund and Malmö. As a CEC member, she delivered information on the upcoming presidential election. Our compatriots who participated in the event said they would exercise their constitutional rights in the presidential election and vote for a worthy candidate.
