In Stockholm, the delegation of Uzbekistan led by the First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Rector of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy Sodyq Safoev held a meeting with members of the Swedish Parliament.
At the meeting with the participation of First Deputy Speaker of the Swedish Parliament Kenneth Forslund and Deputy Speaker of the Swedish Parliament K. Lundgren, as well as members of the Foreign Affairs, Constitutional Affairs and OSCE Cooperation Committees, Sodyq Safoev introduced the Swedish representatives to the Constitutional Reforms implemented in the country.
In particular, he said that in the amendments to the new Constitution, the protection of human rights and dignity, the guarantees of social protection and economic well-being are being strengthened at the level of the main law, and the control functions of the parliament over the activities of judicial and control bodies, law enforcement bodies and special services are being strengthened.
At the same time, during the dialogue, the current situation and development prospects of Uzbekistan-Sweden inter-parliamentary cooperation were discussed. In turn, the Swedish side announced that it supports the reforms implemented in Uzbekistan, including changes in the field of foreign policy.
