A meeting with the rector of Vilnius University was held at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy

On April 12, this year, First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Rector of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy Sodyq Safoev received a delegation led by Rimvydas Petrauskas, Rector of Vilnius University.

S. Safoev spoke about the large-scale reforms carried out in the field of higher education in Uzbekistan, establishing close partnerships with leading universities and research centers of the world. After informing about the activities of the UWED and its departments at the present stage, he expressed interest in establishing partnership with Vilnius University.

In turn, R. Petrauskas, noting that Vilnius University is the oldest and largest higher educational institution in Lithuania, expressed readiness for close cooperation with the UWED.

The parties discussed the possibilities of establishing student exchanges, interaction between the teaching staff to create joint curriculum and conduct scientific research, exchange of experience in the field of financial management.

The meeting was also attended by vice-rectors of the UWED Durbek Amanov and Gulnoza Ismailova, Deputy Director of the Institute for Advanced International Studies Akram Umarov.

At the end of the conversation, S. Safoev and R. Petrauskas signed a Memorandum of Cooperation between the University of World Economy and Diplomacy and Vilnius University.
