On April 7, this year First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia Ivica Dačić visited the University of World Economy and Diplomacy.

Upon his arrival at the university, the high-placed guest was welcomed by the First Deputy Chairman of the Senate Oliy Majlis, Rector of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy Sodyq Safoev.

The meeting was also attended by the First Vice-Rectors of the UWED Durbek Amanov, Deputy Director of the Diplomatic Academy Abdusamad Haydarov, Deputy Director of the Institute for Advanced International Studies of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy Akram Umarov and Head of the Centre for European Studies of this Institute Rustam Kayumov.

The parties discussed the prospects for the development of Uzbek-Serbian partnership in the field of economy, strengthening inter-parliamentary relations, as well as in the field of education and science.

S. Safoev spoke about constitutional reforms in Uzbekistan and the upcoming national referendum on April 30.

In turn, Ivica Dačić praised the achievements of New Uzbekistan and expressed the interest of the Serbian side in further strengthening of cooperation between the two countries.

At the end of the meeting, the Serbian Foreign Minister met with the students of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy, answered their questions.
