On September 27-29 2022, in the Republic of India an international conference was held on the topic "India and Central Asia: Challenges and Opportunities". The conference was hosted by India's prestigious think tank Policy Perspectives Foundation (PPF). It was attended by representatives of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and India. The conference on behalf of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy was attended by the head of the department "International Relations" Ulugbek Khasanov and the PhD student of the department Islomkhon Gafarov.

The conference was devoted to such topical issues as economic cooperation, integration of Central and South Asia, issues of interregional security and stability, Iran-India-Central Asia cooperation format. They also considered the importance of Uzbek-Indian relations, issues of Afghanistan's stability, environmental problems, the impact of "soft power" and the construction of the Trans-Afghan railway. The speech was made by the head of the department "International Relations" Ulugbek Khasanov and the PhD student of the department Islomkhon Gafarov. U.Khasanov's report was aimed at searching for new models of cooperation between the countries of Central Asia and neighboring regions. In addition, he drew the attention of the participants to the advantages of the Trans-Afghan corridor and the potential for the development of Uzbek-Indian relations in various sectors. In turn, I.Gafarov's speech was mainly aimed at the positive foreign policy reforms that have taken place over the past five years in the Central Asian region.
