A solemn event “School of first-years” was held at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy

On September 5, 2022, a solemn event "School of first-years" was held at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy. The event was attended by First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, rector of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy S. Safoyev, who declared the ceremony open after words of greeting. S. Safayev noted the University of World Economy and Diplomacy to be the "First higher educational institution of the Independence". In addition to this, the rector stated that this year's students will differ from the previous ones. This is because the University of World Economy and Diplomacy is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. At the same time, according to the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, this year it is planned to transform the University of World Economy and Diplomacy into a "smart university". This gives an impulse to the raise of the university rating in the world. In the premises of the country, this project makes the University of World Economy and Diplomacy first of its kind. The rector of the university made a single request to the students: "To make the most of every moment".  

After the rector's congratulatory speech, a short concert program consisting of dance, poetry and songs took its turn. Then the students, who gained high scores in the entrance exams for the 2022-2023 academic year gave their speeches and expressed their gratitude.  

After that, students, who did internships in the embassies and representative offices of Uzbekistan abroad and representatives of the Student Council of the University spoke and shared their experiences. In order to inspire students, the graduate of the Faculty of IER of the university, Gafurova Dilafruz spoke about her path of becoming holder of a state scholarship named after Islam Karimov.  

At the end of the event, the song "Motherland" was performed live.
