On August 30, 2022, a round table was held at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy on the topic “Development of administrative justice as the most important direction of administrative reform in the context of constitutional changes in Uzbekistan”.

At this event, the conditions of constitutional changes, prospects for improving the mechanisms of administrative justice in Uzbekistan, including the possibility of introducing pre-trial mechanisms for the consideration of administrative complaints were discussed.

To improve the administrative justice system in Uzbekistan, the USAID Legal Reform Program (USAID) supported a study of the possibilities and prospects for the development of pre-trial administrative justice in Uzbekistan.

As a result of this assistance, an analytical note “On the possibilities and prospects for the development of pre-trial administrative justice in the Republic of Uzbekistan” was developed, as well as a draft Presidential Decree “On cardinal improvement of the system of pre-trial consideration of administrative complaints”.

During the discussions, the participants also discussed the results of a study on the introduction of pre-trial consideration of administrative complaints in Uzbekistan, as well as the study of the French administrative justice system, in order to bring these results in line with the ongoing constitutional reform.

During the round table, practitioners discussed the prospects for improving administrative justice in Uzbekistan, including the possibility of introducing pre-trial mechanisms.

Along with the above, the round table served as a scientific platform for discussing the analytical note “On the possibilities and prospects for the development of pre-trial administrative justice in the Republic of Uzbekistan” and possible regulatory measures to improve the system of pre-trial consideration of administrative complaints.
