Modernization of Economy and Development of Foreign Economic Activity of the Republic of Uzbekistan: Approaches, Trends and Prospects

The scientific-practical conference on the topic "Modernization of Economy and Development of Foreign Economic Activity of the Republic of Uzbekistan: Approaches, Trends and Prospects", organized by the departments of "International Economic Relations" faculty, was held at University of World Economy and Diplomacy on January 17, 2017. Representatives of the universities of Uzbekistan took part at the meeting. The conference was opened with a welcoming speech of UWED Rector A.Djumanov. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of problems to be considered by the Conference and the significance of elaboration of practical recommendations on the topical issues of the agenda of the event.

The head of "International Trade and Investment" department Mavlanov I.R., the professor of "World Economy and International Economic Relations" department Sirajiddinov N., the head of "Economic theory" department Tashpulatova L.M. and the teacher of "Transport logistics" department of the Tashkent Institute for the Design of Roads Malenkih D. presented their speeches at the plenary session.

The conference continued in four Working groups on the following subjects:

  1. Theoretical-methodical questions of modernization of economy and development of foreign economic relations in current conditions of globalization.
  2. Trade and investment in modernization of the economy of Uzbekistan.
  3. Methodological questions and strategic directions of modernization of the economy of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
  4. The role of mathematical models in modernization of economy.

The teachers of "World Economy and International Economic Relations", "Economic Theory", "International Trade and Investment", "Mathematical Modeling and IT" departments, the teachers of Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies, Samarkand Institute of Economics and Service as well as UWED students actively participated at the Conference. At the end of the conference the moderators have presented summaries of the Working groups activity.
