SCO People's Diplomacy Forum on the theme "People's Diplomacy - mutual solidarity for development"

Within the framework of the chairmanship of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the SCO People's Diplomacy Forum on the theme "People's Diplomacy – mutual solidarity for development" was held in Tashkent.

Representatives of international organizations, heads of parliaments, non-governmental organizations and analytical centers of the SCO member states, Doctor of Political Sciences, Professor of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy E. Sultanova and several students took part in this forum.

Special attention was paid to the activities of the SCO People's Diplomacy Center, established in 2017 in Tashkent on the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. It was recognized that in a short time this structure has taken a vital place in the organization's system, close communication has been established with relevant institutions of China, Tajikistan and a number of other countries.

The chairmanship of our country in the SCO and the initiatives put forward by the Republic were highly appreciated at the conference. The delegations supported the proposals of our country on the effective realization of the potential of the younger generation in the SCO member states, the introduction of the practice of the annual assignment of the status of the cultural and tourist capital of the SCO, the organization of the Institute of the “SCO Goodwill Ambassador".

Today the world is entering a turning point. The modern system of international relations is undergoing profound changes. “I would very much like non-governmental non-profit organizations of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization States to become the driving force of people's diplomacy. Only then it can become a truly sought-after platform for rapprochement at the national level. In this regard, it is necessary to give the SCO People's Diplomacy forum a permanent status, held annually in each of the organization's member countries," E. Sultanova said.

Representatives of domestic and foreign organizations put forward various ideas and proposals, make important initiatives and interesting presentations.
