The Day of the French language was held at the University of world economy and diplomacy

On April 29th of 2022 another francophonic event - the Day of the French language was held at the University of world economy and diplomacy. The event attendees were the representatives of the French Embassy in Tashkent, namely, the Adviser on Culture and Cooperation - Mr. Laurent Oriol, head of the French alliance - Ahmedov Dilshod Komilzhonovich and the representative of Campus France - Mrs. Maeva-Lauren Godard, the former Honorary Consul of Belgium in Uzbekistan - Jean-Claude Beaujean.

The event was opened by the Vice-Rector of the university for Research and Innovation - G. Ismailova, who welcomed all the guests and students and stressed the importance of learning the French language. After this welcoming speech, the audience was shown a video dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Uzbekistan and France.

The event consisted of interactive games, in the form of a quiz, performances of the students, which included the live performance of traditional and modern French songs, traditional Belgian dance, Algerian dance and modern French dance.

The audience was presented with a video about the cycling race "Tour de France" held among the university students.

At the end of the event, Mr. Lauren Oriol presented certificates to the winners of the interactive quiz and the cycling race.

The event was well organized and served as a proof of the high attention paid to the French language.
