Sadyk Safoev, First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Rector of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy, was awarded the Imperial Prize of the Government of Japan.

On November 3, 2021, the Japanese government announced the list of foreigners awarded the 2021 Imperial Order. The list also includes the rector of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy Sadyk Safoev.

Today, on February 25, an international conference on the topic “Uzbekistan-Japan: 30 years of diplomatic relations, prospects for deepening strategic partnership” was held at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy. During the event, UWED rector Sadyk Safoev was awarded the Grand Cordon order by the Japanese government.

It should be noted that Sadyk Safoev was awarded the Order of the “Great Cord of the Rising Sun” for many years of service in deepening bilateral ties and developing friendly relations between Japan and Uzbekistan.

The Order of the Rising Sun is awarded only to those who have achieved high results. It should be noted that this order was issued in 1875.

According to the Japanese Embassy in Uzbekistan, Sadyk Safoev served as Minister of Foreign Affairs at the beginning of the Central Asia + Japan Dialogue, an important platform between Japan and Central Asia, and contributed to strengthening relations between the two countries.

As a former chairman of the Oliy Majlis-Japan Inter-Parliamentary Group, it has promoted the development of parliamentary exchanges between the two countries. His contribution to strengthening relations and friendship between the two countries can be called significant.
