A quiz in connection with the 581st anniversary of the birth of the great poet and thinker Alisher Navoi held on the topic “Do you know Alisher Navoi?” under the slogan "From national revival towards national rise!" based on the general principle “(Alisher Navoi and the modern world)”.

In order to increase the potential of the growing younger generation, to educate high moral qualities in the heart of them, and also to deeply study and widely promote the literary and scientific heritage of the great poets and thinkers in our country and internationally, on February 8, 2022, the Department of Uzbek and Russian languages of Uwed, in connection with the 581st anniversary of the birth of the great poet and thinker Alisher Navoi, organized a quiz held on the topic “Do you know Alisher Navoi?” within the framework of the month of events under the slogan "From national revival towards national rise!" based on the general principle “ (Alisher Navoi and the modern world)“.

The event was attended by university professors, 1st year students of the Faculty of International Economics and Management and International Law

The event was opened by the Vice-Rector for Youth Affairs of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy Yusupjonov Odil Abdugafurovich. He spoke about the role of literature in the spiritual life of society, the incomparable noble influence on the human consciousness, spirit and feelings, and said that it was important to read and enjoy his immortal creative works, the life of the great scientist of our nation, the Sultan of the poetic estate, the founder of the Uzbek literary language, the thinker poet Nizamiddin mir Alisher Navoi.

In her speech, the head of the department of Uzbek and Russian languages M. Abdurakhmanova said that experts working in the international field should have perfect knowledge studying our history and language, creative heritage of our great scholars, especially emphasizing the works of our great thinker Alisher Navoi that it is one of the main criteria of spiritual maturity, she gave the word to Shoira Normatova, Associate Professor of Uzbek and Russian languages.

In her presentation, Shoira Normatova gave interesting information about the creative heritage and significance of the works of the great scholar, giving vivid examples of the secrets and magic of Navoi poetry. The speaker also noted that the best works of Navoi were selected for independent reading in the field of communication skills in the Uzbek language.

During the event, students were tested on their knowledge of Navoi’s life, work, political and social life, and his legacy through a quiz on “Do you know Alisher Navoi?”. This event was managed by chief of department “Young generation enlightenment” Furqat Yaxshiyev and by chief of Russian-Uzbek language department Shaxnoza Xudayqulova. According to the results of the quiz:

  1. Bahodir Dadaboyev, a first-year student of the faculty of International Law, took the first place.
  2. Maftuna Mo’minova, a first-year student of the faculty of International Law, took the first place.
  3. Isfandiyor Bahoviddinov, a first-year student of the faculty of International Economics and Management, took the first place.
  4. Jiyanov Sardor, a second-year student of the faculty of International Law, took the second place.
  5. Shohjahon Haydarqulov, a first-year student of the faculty of International Law, took the second place.
  6. Samandar Soliyev, a first-year student of the faculty of International Relations, took the second place.
  7. Umida Qurbonova, a first-year student of the faculty of International relations, took the third place.
  8. Nurfozil Latipov, a first-year student of the faculty of International Relations, took the third place.
  9. Otabek Suyunov, a first-year student of the faculty of International Law, took the third place.
