The University of World Economy and Diplomacy hosted a traditional and online meeting between student activists and journalists. The focus is on the launch of the online newspaper “uwed.voice”- (“Voice of UWED”). The event was opened by Vice-Rector for Youth Affairs Odil Abdugafurovich Yusufzhanov. He noted the importance of the initiative and participation of students to publish their own newspaper on a regular basis, information activities allow not only to widely cover current events, but also develop skills in working with facts and information. It is no coincidence that they say that in the modern world, whoever owns information owns the world, or information rules the world. Today, information support is especially important for a young specialist, it helps him to advance, gain an image and be successful.

The guests of the university were Alexandra Terekhina, a journalist, winner of the Oltin Kalam state award, a presidential scholarship, a teacher at the University of Journalism and Mass Communications of Uzbekistan and Sevara Makhmudova, head of the media department of the Ziyo-Forum Foundation. A. Terekhina spoke about how a youth newspaper is made, what materials and topics are most in demand, about the importance of headings, the correct layout of pages, design, including a proofreader in the editorial board, avoiding mistakes and typos. The journalist also shared her experience of publishing an online newspaper with part-time students, about the distribution between them of the functions responsible for headings, news block, photo illustration. Sevara Makhmudova, having extensive experience in Instagram and Telegram channels, told how to attract readers through brief information tips on how best to use an account (or Bio). Sevara also brought handouts, the latest issue of the almanac of young researchers "ZIYOLILAR", booklets and presented them to the participants of the round table.

Students were actively involved in the issues discussed, expressed their opinions, suggestions - what they would like to see their newspaper. A second-year student of the Faculty of International Relations, Samandar Saraev, said that they already had experience working with the UWED media center, they prepared an interview with a scientist, a university teacher, and it was published on YouTube. It is advisable to publish more interviews, opinions, videos, interesting headings in an online newspaper. It is also very important not to make mistakes when a publication comes out with lexical distortions, omissions, for some reason you think more about them, and not about the material itself that was published. Samandar was supported by another student from the Faculty of International Economic Relations and Management Shokhruh Kuchkarov. He also noted that our newspaper must adhere to intelligence, correctness, although it is designed for students. And yet, we still need to write more about our achievements, many have success in sports, in creativity, someone won the оlympics, received a grant, an international certificate, we need to talk about it, write about it.

Student Azizbek Muratbekov spoke via online communication, he proposed to introduce the heading “Your vision”, and that different opinions, positions, and views be published there. And you can also create a rubric "Small joys" and under it give different successes of our students, fellow students. After all, someone likes to draw, someone likes to sing, play a musical instrument, they even write poems, everyone has some kind of talent, hobby, why not celebrate it.

A variety of proposals were made, the vision of the newspaper. So, it was proposed to observe continuity. A few years ago, an online newspaper was published, but the students graduated, then the pandemic began, and their experience was forgotten a little. After all, we will also graduate from the university in 2-3 years, so we need to attract talented freshmen to the editorial office so that they can continue publishing later. Umida Kurbanova from the Faculty of International Relations raised the issue of gender equality, said that we need to write more about our caring teachers, many of them constantly communicate with them and help solve problems. We need to write more about them, Umida was instructed to write material on this topic.

Summing up the discussion and summarizing the proposals, the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of International Relations, Sayora Tillakhojayeva, invited everyone to write an information message, correspondence about the event and reflect their attitude towards it, give their personal assessment. Secondly, the composition of the editorial board, the editor of the new student newspaper, to collect from the students the proposed materials on various topics and prepare the issue for publication. At the suggestion of the audience, guests of the university Alexandra Terehtna and Sevara Makhmudova were included in the press group of activists on the newspaper, they agreed to participate in its work.
