Meeting of the rector and youth at UWED

It is known that in recent years our country has been actively working to implement democratic reforms, including human rights and freedoms, the rule of law.  Indeed, the “Development Strategy of New Uzbekistan”, based on the principle “From Action Strategy to Development Strategy”, also marks a new stage in our national development.  On January 21st, First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Rector of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy Sodik Safayev held an online meeting with students on the topic “Systematic reform of the university based on the principle “From Action Strategy to Development Strategy”.

At the meeting, the rector of the university spoke in detail about the priorities of the "Development Strategy", aimed at compliance with the requirements of the Constitution and laws, as well as the full implementation of the priority principle "for the human value."  Building a people's state is based on the development of a free civil society, ensuring human dignity and its legitimate interests, justice and legality, the development of the national economy, its growth rate at the level of modern requirements, a fair social policy, and humanism.  The most important factor is the issue of quality education, the spiritual and educational sphere, as well as seven important areas, including global problems and their solutions, ensuring peace and security, which are extremely important for our country, the essence of which was explained with specific examples.  During the event, the rector also made proposals for the systemic reform of the university, i.е.  to further improve the quality of education, transform UWED into a "Smart University», develop cooperation with leading universities in the world, improve the skills of faculty and staff.

Students also took an active part in an open dialogue, expressing their opinions and suggestions on the topic.  This online meeting inspired the students of our university to better understand the priorities and objectives set out in the "Development Strategy" of our country, and to make a worthy contribution to its implementation.
