On January 14, 2022, the UN Model in a new hybrid format was held at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy. The discussions within the “Model UN” framework allowed the participants to understand how the United Nations works. Other important aims were to display how to narrow differences in the course of negotiations and to raise students’ awareness of the challenges and achievements of international cooperation within the UN framework. The "Model UN" consists of three main stages: first, an intensive preparation process where the participants study the information about the countries that he or she represented with the focus on the issue of the topic; secondly, a direct role-playing game simulating a discussion on the "UN Model", where each participant acts as a "diplomat" representing a country; and the final stage, where participants' speeches and the experience they gained are evaluated.

The conference was organized by the Department of English. The UN model was opened by Vice-Rector O.A.Yusufjonov, noting that these models should also be conducted at an international scale with more students participating to practice their diplomatic skills. The students gave priority to solving some of the urgent social problems in the world and put great emphasis on the issue of "Solving the problems of modern education". The conference was attended by more than 20 students who acted as officials of various states, negotiated on global issues, and offered innovative solutions. All students of the UWED were given the opportunity to observe the implementation of the model online.

E.V.Borisova, Head of the English Language Department, noted that this year's Model was prepared in just a few days, unlike the traditional several months, but the tight deadlines did not affect the level of organization of the conference.
