On December 16-17, the international conference "Women, Peace and Security" and its relationship to human rights and sustainable development was held.

It was attended by the leaders, the Director of the National Center for Human Rights, the OSCE Center for Gender Equality in Uzbekistan, the Academies of the Ministry of Neighborhood and Family Support, the General Prosecutor's Office and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the University of World Economy and Diplomacy.

Women are the most vulnerable groups in conflict and post-conflict societies and are often subjected to various forms of violence, such as violence, intimidation, rape, human trafficking and forced marriage.

The conference reviewed the prospects for the National Action Plan of the Republic of Uzbekistan in accordance with Resolution 1325 of the UN Security Council.

UN Law 1325 recognizes that women are particularly vulnerable to sexual violence in conflict and post-conflict situations and calls for their protection.

The experts analyzed in detail the foreign experience. In particular, the professor of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy Sultanova Etibor Siddikovna made a report on this topic.

According to the conference, it was said that Uzbekistan ranks 74th out of 170 countries in the Global Index of Women, Peace and Security.

As a result of the conference, an agreement was reached to hold similar events and further develop cooperation.
