As you know, one of the fundamental principles of any legal democratic state is the rule of law. The Constitution, which is the main law of our country, is a solid foundation that serves to create a democratic State based on the rule of law, a strong civil society, an economy based on free market relations, building a comfortable life for our people, and the increasing role of our country in the international arena.

After our republic gained independence, on December 8, 1992, at the eleventh session of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Uzbekistan of the 12th convocation, the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan was adopted - the legal basis of our independent state. The fact that over the past short period the political, legal and socio-economic image of our society, the consciousness of our people has completely changed, each of our compatriots makes a worthy contribution to the development of our country, testifies to the vitality and enormous potential of our people. Relying on this huge potential, our people today bravely overcome difficult trials and selflessly work towards building a free, well-ordered and prosperous life in our country - New Uzbekistan.

First of all, our Main Law stipulates that the interests of the individual are above the interests of the state, that a person, his rights and freedoms and interests are imprinted as the highest value, that the only source of state power in Uzbekistan is the people, that the state expresses the will of the people, serves its interests.

Such achievements and results, which are the result of the enormous legal opportunities created by our Constitution, certainly cause us all great pride. To this end, in connection with the 29th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan, an event with the participation of the university faculty and students was organized at UWED.

The event was held by the Vice-Rector for International Relations of UWED S. Saidkasimov, who was directly involved in the creation of our Constitution. Saidkasimov dwelt in detail on the systemic democratic reforms carried out in our country to ensure the principles of democracy and social justice, loyalty and humanism deeply rooted in our Constitution.

Speaking at the event, I. Khamedov noted that our head of state is the main legal guarantee of building a sovereign democratic state in our country, ensuring human interests, rights and freedoms, economic development and improving the welfare of our people, and shared memories of its creation.

At the event, students also expressed their opinion through artistic performances and presentations about the role and importance of our head office in our lives, about strengthening in the hearts of young people a sense of respect for the law, love and devotion to the Motherland, raising legal awareness and culture, about the history of the creation of the Main Law, changes and additions made to it.
