Former Ambassador of Canada to Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Honduras visited UWED

On October 27, 2021, at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy, a meeting was held with Neil Reeder (USA) - Vice President for Government Relations of the B2Gold Mining Company, the former Canadian Ambassador to Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Honduras, who arrived in Uzbekistan as international observer for the presidential election.
Neil Reeder was received by the rector of the university Sadyk Safayev. During the meeting, the guest shared his impressions earned during the period of time he spent in Uzbekistan.
The next part of the meeting consisted of a lecture for UWED students and teachers, where Neil Reeder spoke about his life experience, including 35 years of diplomatic work.
Mr. Reeder made a presentation of the B2Gold mining company and his vision of the prospects for the gold mining industry in Uzbekistan. He talked about the company's activities and prosperities in our country. He informed that the Canadian company first entered the gold mining industry of our country in 2018 for the development of deposits in the Navoi region and the amount of investment in this project has shown the numbers about 3 million US dollars for only 2020.
The lecturer emphasized that Uzbekistan has tremendous opportunities in this area, as it is one of the world leaders in gold reserves and resources.
During the lecture, which was held in English, students and teachers received detailed answers to many of their interested questions.
At the end of the meeting, the Canadian diplomat expressed his deep satisfaction with the meeting and expressed gratitude for its organization.
