On August 20, 2021, an international round table “Uzbekistan and the SCO: Cooperation for Sustainable Development” was held, organized by the Senate Committee on International Relations, Foreign Economic Relations, Foreign Investment and Tourism, as well as the SCO People's Diplomacy Center in Uzbekistan.

The event was opened by Deputy Chairman of the Senate Committee on International Relations, Foreign Economic Relations, Foreign Investment and Tourism Anvar Tuychiev, Director of the Center for People's Diplomacy of the SCO countries in Uzbekistan Kabuljon Sobirov.

Reports were made by: Head of the Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, National Coordinator for SCO Affairs Rakhmatulla Nurimbetov, Secretary General of the SCO Chinese Committee for Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation Zheng Wei, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Uzbekistan Manish Prabhat, Project Manager of the Fund for the Support of Public Diplomacy named after AM Gorchakov Andrey Gorbunov, Rector of the Tashkent University of Oriental Studies Gulchehra Rikhsieva, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Pakistan to Uzbekistan Sayyid Ali Asad Gilani, Deputy of the National Movement “Yuksalish” Sherzod Saparov, Director of the SCO Friendship and Cooperation Center in Tajikistan Gafurzoda Abdukhalil Davlatali, Adviser to the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Uzbekistan Nurlan Dzhumaliyev.

Along with them, Doctor of Political Sciences, Professor of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy Etibor Sultanova made a report on the topic: “Global Partnership for Sustainable Development”.

During the discussion, such topics as issues of ensuring security and stability, activation of mechanisms of public diplomacy between the SCO states, issues of trade, economic and investment cooperation were touched upon, as well as opinions and proposals were expressed on the development of exchange and cooperation in the field of cultural and humanitarian ties.
