Strengthening historically close and friendly ties, trust and good-neighborly relations between the countries of Central and South Asia is one of the urgent tasks facing us in the interests of the peoples of the two regions. To further strengthen regional ties, it is necessary, first of all, to develop trade and economic, transport and communication, cultural and humanitarian cooperation.

It is known that on August 18 of this year, the international scientific and practical conference “Connectivity of Central and South Asia: Preconditions, Prospects, Geostrategic significance”, organized on the initiative of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the University of World Economy and Diplomacy together with the Konrad Adenauer Foundation for Central Asia and the Central Asian International Institute, is devoted to the implementation of the tasks set at the conference Central and South Asiaregional interconnectedness. Challenges and Opportunities”, organized by the initiative of the head of state.

During the conference, First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Rector of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy Sodyq Safoyev spoke in detail about the practical significance of the Tashkent Conference in the development of the region, proposals and initiatives put forward by our country.

It should be noted that the participation in the conference not only of the countries of Central and South Asia, but also of the largest countries of the world demonstrates a new geopolitical picture. A prepared methodological guide based on the scientific and practical conference results explaining in detail the main results and achievements of the Tashkent conference “Central and South Asia: regional interconnectedness. Challenges and Opportunities” once again testifies to the high authority of this international conference.
