Youth is considered the most memorable period of a person’s life. It is the knowledge and skills acquired during this period that will ensure the pricelessness of the upcoming period. No wonder the sages said: “The knowledge gained in youth is like a pattern carved in stone”.

One of the big news for our Youth, undoubtedly, was the announcement on March 19, 2019 of 5 initiatives of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan aimed at increasing the spirituality of young people and organizing their leisure time. In pursuance of this initiative, numerous music and art schools, sports complexes, IT centers, libraries, as well as new enterprises for women's employment were built and reconstructed on the ground. Currently, every city and district has all the conditions for our young people to be engaged in these areas.

Looking at the numbers, there are currently 3 billion young people under the age of 25 in the world. Half a billion of them are low-income young people. More than 100 million children do not attend school. Almost 30 thousand young children die of hunger every day. More than 7 thousand young people are infected with a dangerous disease-AIDS. Every year the conference is held under special slogans: “Fighting poverty together: youth and poverty”, “Youth and change: it’s time to act”. In addition, the Youth Day is celebrated in China, Tunisia, Cameroon, Turkey and other countries.

Today, August 12 is the International Youth Day. As for history, the World Conference on Youth, held in Lisbon from 8 to 12 August 1999, approved the broad celebration of 12 August As the International Youth Day. This day has been celebrated as a holiday since 2000. On this day, the attention of the world community will once again be focused on youth issues.
