On the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, an international conference “Central and South Asia: regional interconnectedness. Challenges and Opportunities” was held in Tashkent on July 15-16.
The main goal of the forum is to strengthen historically close and friendly ties, trust and good-neighborliness between the states of Central and South Asia in the interests of all the peoples and countries of the two regions. The conference contributes to the formation of a political and expert platform for multilateral discussion of the model of a mutually beneficial strategic link “Central Asia – South Asia” in the transport and logistics, energy, trade, production, investment, technological, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
The forum confirmed the need to increase cooperation in the fields of economy, investment, energy and technological innovation, primarily in the field of “green” technologies, and recognized the progress observed in the implementation of projects and initiatives in these areas.
Within this large-scale event, doctoral students of the University of world economy and diplomacy Gulimov Amanlak, Ikramov Saidakmal, Bobokhonov Abbos, Moiliev Eler, Kholbayev Sanzhar participated as experts in the analytical group at the ICAI.
In addition, a group of UWED students, as interpreters, helped the conference participants to meet and accompany foreign guests in the organization of the forum.
