On June 18, the next negotiations between the leadership of the UWED and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in Uzbekistan were held in the online format.

On the Japanese side, the negotiations were attended by the Head of the JICA Representative Office, Mr Miyazaki Tsuguru, and the representative of the organization in Uzbekistan, Mr Omori Shun. UWED was represented by the Vice-Rector of the university for International Relations, Prof.Saidmukhtar Saidkasimov, Dean of the faculty of International Relations Murad Bahodirov, Head of the Department of International Cooperation Alim Mukhitdinov and Head of the Department of Oriental Languages and the Head of the Analytical Center for Japanese Studies Hakima Gafurova.

The head of JICA in Uzbekistan, Miyazaki Tsuguru, highly appreciated the expanding cooperation established between UWED and Japanese universities. The parties discussed practical issues of implementing a number of new promising scientific and educational projects in the coming years.

During the many years of successful cooperation between UWED and JICA, a large number of different activities were carried out, especially the contribution to the organization of professional study of the Japanese language, history, culture and modern socio-economic, especially technological achievements of Japan, including the active participation of permanent JICA volunteers in UWED.

During the meeting, the issues of further expansion of JICA's participation in new educational areas were discussed in detail, in particular, the organization of the JICA department in the UWED, about volunteer and training programs.

The JICA representative office expressed its deep satisfaction with the results achieved, and also confirmed its interest in the further active involvement of UWED experts in the implementation of its projects within the framework of regional cooperation in various areas of international political and economic relations of the Central Asian countries, to participate in international seminars and consultations organized by the Japanese side.
