On June 2, 2021, the University of world economy and diplomacy hosted a meeting of American entrepreneurs with the leadership of the University, the team of professors and researchers. Among the honourable guests were Chairman of Crow Holdings, Harlan Crow, President and co-founder of Eagle Capital Management, Ravenel B Carry III, Senior Fellow at the Hudson Institute, Michael Doran, columnist of The Wall Street Journal Walter Russell Mead.

The conversation, which initially began in the spirit of a mutual acquaintance, turned into an analysis of heated discussions and various topics. Rector of UWED Komiljon Karimov briefed the American guests on the activities of the university, the requirements of Uzbekistan in international relations, international law and international economics, and UWED educational methods, the application of modern educational standards and activities with foreign partners.

On February 19, 1992, Uzbekistan and the United States established diplomatic relations. The exchange of letters between the foreign ministries of the two countries that took place on this day marked the beginning of the gradual development of fruitful bilateral cooperation.

At the present stage, the Uzbek-American dialogue is based on the generally recognized principles and norms of international law, respect for the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of the two states, consideration of each other's interests and commitment to democratic values.

Effective political dialogue between the two countries contributes to successful cooperation. At the meeting held today, these cooperation relations were also discussed. American businessmen were interested in the opinions of Uzbek colleagues on regional, economic and state relations. In particular, the leadership of the University and the teacher of the Faculty of International relations, doctoral student Akrom Umarov, the head of the master's degree department Otabek Naimov presented their rich answers to guests’ questions in negotiations.

At the end of the conversation, foreign guests expressed gratitude to the organizers of the meeting for the dialogue. They also highly appreciated the scientific potential of professors, teachers and researchers and expressed great interest in further cooperation with the University, communication with students.
