On May 6, a video conference on measures to improve the system of teaching foreign languages was held under the chairmanship of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
– It is time to create a new system of teaching foreign languages in our country, which will become a solid foundation for the future. Since we set ourselves the goal of building a competitive state, from now on, graduates of schools, lyceums, colleges and universities must be fluent in at least two foreign languages. This strict requirement should become the main criterion for the work of the head of each educational institution, the President noted that at this meeting.
On behalf of the Head of State, it was announced that a center for advanced foreign language training was established in the UWED. The first year it trains students, young people and specialists in 10 foreign languages.
To this end, the University of World Economy and Diplomacy held a meeting with the Ambassador of the State of Kuwait H.E. Ahmad Khaled Al-Jiran. The meeting discussed issues of cooperation in the training of specialists in the field of Arabic, officially introduced in the UN working languages.
Rector of UMED Komiljon Karimov informed the high-ranking guest about the training process, the structure of the university and its potential. To.Karimov also spoke about the creation of a system that includes the teaching of Arabic in the newly created Center for Advanced Foreign Language Training.
