The University of world economy and diplomacy hosted a videoconference with the Center for Central Asian Studies of the Matthew Corvinus University of Budapest. The meeting was organized with the practical assistance of the Embassy of Hungary in Uzbekistan and the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Hungary. From the Hungarian side was attended by the Director of the Center for Central Asian Studies at the University of Budapest Marton Krasnaj, Executive Director of the Corvinus University Center for Scientific Work Miklos Rosti, Honorary Professor, former Vice-Rector of Corvinus University, Researcher at the Center for Central Asian Studies Balazh Hamori, Hungarian Ambassador to in Uzbekistan, Peter Santo, as well as Vice-Rector for International Relations of the UWED Saidmukhtor Saidkasimov, Dean of the Faculty of International Economics and Management Mirzo Umid Khamdamov, Dean of the Faculty of International Relations Murad Bakhodirov, Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Hungary Rustam Khudoiberdiev. Initially, the parties exchanged views on the comprehensive cooperation of the two countries, agreements reached during the visit of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban to Uzbekistan in March this year. The peoples of Uzbekistan and Hungary are linked by common pages of history, close partnerships. Today Hungary is one of the important partners of Uzbekistan in Europe. Thanks to mutual efforts and practical interaction, this partnership is strengthening every year.

The videoconference provided information about the Center for Central Asian Studies at the University of Budapest and the University of Corvinus. Matthew Corwin University of Budapest, founded in 1920, is one of the most prominent educational institutions in Hungary in the fields of economics, management and social sciences. The Research Center for Central Asian Studies at Corvinus University was founded in 2016. The center studied the business environment and economic potential of Uzbekistan at the request of companies such as the Hungarian National Oil and Gas Company "MOL", the multinational pharmaceutical and biotechnological company "Gedeon Richter Ltd.", the Hungarian export-import bank "Eximbank" and others with the aim of expanding trade and economic relations.

The parties discussed issues of training specialists in the field of rational use of water resources, exchange of undergraduates, researchers and teachers, as well as the organization of online and offline lectures by professors and teachers of the two countries. It was decided to sign a memorandum of understanding to strengthen cooperation between universities.
