A memorandum of cooperation was signed between the University of World Economy and Diplomacy and the University of San Pablo (CEU) of Spain. However, the plans for this cooperation were postponed due to COVID-19. A video conference was held between the UWED and San Pablo representatives on the continuation of these agreements.

The meeting was attended by the Vice-Rector for International Relations of the University of San Pablo Ainhoa ​​Uribe, Advisor to the Office for Cooperation with the Countries of Eastern Europe and Central Asia under the Department for Cooperation with the Countries of North America, Western Europe, Asia and the Pacific of the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Professor of the CEU Antonio Alonso, a graduate of UWED and currently a researcher at the University of Valladolid in Spain Hilola Ruzieva, Vice-Rector for International Relations UWED Saidmukhtor Saidkasimov and Vice-Rector for Research and Innovations Gulnoza Ismailova.

At the beginning of the meeting, Vice-Rector of UWED S.Saidkasimov informed his Spanish colleagues about the changes that had taken place at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy during this period, about the educational process and international cooperation. Taking advantage of the available opportunities, he put forward his proposals for the implementation of the agreement. In particular, he expressed his opinion on the joint training and development of personnel in the field of international economics and international law at universities. In the context of the pandemic, organizing a series of online lectures for students, undergraduates and researchers, teaching Spanish language to UWED students and online lectures for Spanish students and teachers on the economic and diplomatic situation in the Central Asian region, especially in Uzbekistan.

Italian professors invited UWED to consider the application of Global classroom, Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) programs in collaborative practice. Representatives of the University of San Pablo suggested introducing their experience in cooperation with countries such as the United States and Japan with the University of World Economy and Diplomacy.
