Meeting of UWED and JICA Representative office in Uzbekistan

Rector of the University of world economy and diplomacy Komiljon Karimov met with Miyazaki Suguru, Chief Representative of JICA Uzbekistan Office. At the beginning of the meeting, the rector briefed the Japanese experts on the activities of the university, the requirements of Uzbekistan in international relations, international law and international economics, and UWED educational methods, the application of modern educational standards and activities with foreign partners.
The meeting was also attended by representative of JICA in Uzbekistan Omori Shun, Administrative officer Damir Khabirov, UWED Vice-Rector for International Relations Saidmukhtor Saidkasimov, Dean of the faculty of International economics and management Mirzoumid Khamdamov and Head of the Department of Oriental Languages Khakima Gafurova.
In turn, the head of the JICA Office in Uzbekistan Miyazaki Suguru praised the work of the university that provides personnel in Uzbek diplomacy. He singled out the cooperation established between UWED and Japanese universities such as Nagoya and Saitama. The parties discussed broad prospects for cooperation in the social sphere, political orientation, economics. In addition, agreements were reached within the JICA Chair program on series of lectures for students on issues such as economic development, development models of countries, economic geography, strategic goals of countries and active participation in JICA projects.
For reference: JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) was founded in 1954, the organization seeks to contribute to the development of international cooperation, as well as the sustainable development of the Japanese and world economy by supporting the socio-economic development, recovery or economic stability of developing regions. JICA in Uzbekistan cooperates on power generation and railway infrastructure development projects. The development of human resources is carried out through the activities of the Uzbek-Japanese Center, improvement of the legal system for entrepreneurship through projects in the field of agriculture and health.
