On March 31, Mohd Zamruni bin Khalid, General director of the Institute of Diplomacy and International Relations (IDFR) under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia, held online lecture for UWED students. The meeting was opened by the rector of the university Komiljon Karimov. The event was also attended by the representative of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Malaysia Sukhrob Vaseev and the vice-rector of UWED for International relations Saidmukhtor Saidkasimov.

At the beginning of his speech, the Malaysian expert highly appreciated the foreign policy of our country under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, friendship and strategic partnership with other countries, as well as work in the field of science and education. At the online meeting, Mohd Zamruni bin Khalid shared the activities of the Malaysian Institute of Diplomacy and International Relations, opportunities for Uzbek youth to study at IDFR and his personal experience in the field of diplomacy.

IDFR was established in 1991 and has been the training arm of the Malaysian Foreign Ministry since 2004. The main aim of the university is to improve the qualifications of Malaysian diplomats in the field of international relations, strategic analysis and crisis management, as well as improve their language knowledge. The lecturer noted the prospects of bilateral cooperation with the UWED in the field of training and retraining of specialists in the field of foreign policy and economic diplomacy.

At the end of the lecture by Mohd Zamruni bin Khalid, students took an active part in the Q&A session. In particular, students of the faculty of International relations Nigina Niyazmatova, Shahlo Kamaladdinova, Gulshoda Akmaljanova asked the foreign expert questions about Cultural diplomacy, IDFR's relationship with international organizations and Uzbekistan.

At the end of the event, the parties reached an agreement on further expansion of cooperation between UWED and IDFR in the field of training young diplomats, as well as building up research potential in the field of international relations.
