On March 17, the delegation of the Slovak Republic visited the University of world economy and diplomacy. With the participation of the guests, was organized a meeting with the faculty, researchers and students headed by the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Slovakia H.E. Ingrid Brockova. The event was also attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Slovak Republic to Uzbekistan H.E. Jan Bory.

After the opening speech of the rector of the university Komiljon Karimov, the participants watched a video about Slovakia. Despite the fact that Slovakia is a small country located in the center of the European continent, it has one of the fastest-growing economies. The basis of this development is considered to be such areas as the service sector and light industry. At the meeting, Ms Ingrid told the students about the Slovak Republic, its relations with international organizations and with other countries, in particular, about cooperation with Uzbekistan. She also shared with students her views on diplomacy and personal views on global issues based on her work.

Answering students' questions on various topics, Ms.Ingrid was asked about the role of women in diplomacy and her personal experience in foreign policy: “Many people consider diplomacy to be a suitable profession for men. But today this opinion is not entirely correct. Thanks to good and high-quality education and interest in this area, everyone, including women and girls, can become a qualified specialist in this sector, overcoming pre-existing barriers and stereotypes” said H.E. Brotskova.

Through a friendly and inspiring roundtable meeting, students further enriched their knowledge of the Slovak Republic and its foreign policy.
