On March 2, at the University of world economy and diplomacy, was held a lecture by the President of the Council for Cultural Relations of India (ICCR) Vinay Sahasrabudhi. At the beginning of the event, the President of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations and the rector of UWED K. Karimov signed a memorandum of cooperation between the two parties.

Then the guest of honor gave a lecture on the topic "Democratic traditions in India" for teachers and students of the university. The ICCR President acquainted the participants with the friendly relations between the two countries, the similarities and peculiarities of traditions and culture.

Thus, V. Sahasrabudhe, being an active participant in the work of the upper house of the Indian Parliament, expressed his readiness to facilitate the exchange of experience among students who are engaged in the humanities. He highly appreciated the ongoing democratic reforms in our country, and also emphasized the possibility of further close cooperation in the field of culture.

The meeting was also attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Uzbekistan Manish Prabhatni, Director of the Lal Bahadur Shastri Cultural Center at the Embassy of the Republic of India in Uzbekistan Chander Shekhar and other members of the delegation.
