Meeting at UWED with the Ambassador of Bangladesh to Uzbekistan

On February 25, was held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of Bangladesh to Uzbekistan Mr. Mohammad Zahangir Alam with students of the faculty of International Relations of the UWED. At the beginning of the event, students participated with presentations about the history, culture, economic performance of Bangladesh and its cooperation with Uzbekistan.

Bangladesh – is one of the countries that has established long-term strategic cooperation and friendly relations with Uzbekistan. Economic, cultural and social ties between the two countries are strengthening every year. During the event, the ambassador noted the similarity of the principles of foreign policy of Uzbekistan and Bangladesh.

Z. Alam also shared important recommendations for students for their future activities based on his experience and noted that he was impressed with the activities of UWED. At the end of the conversation, the Ambassador of Bangladesh answered questions from the participants.

As additional information - Mr. Mohammad. Zahangir Alam joined as Bangladesh Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Uzbekistan on 23 October, 2020 with concurrent accreditation to Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.  Prior to his present position, he was working as Additional Secretary (Legal Affairs), Ministry of Foreign Affairs.  In his long career, he served in different Ministries and field administrations of Bangladesh Government under various capacities. Aside from this, he served as Consul for five years in the Bangladesh Consulate, Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. H.E. Md. Zahangir Alam obtained his Honors and Master’s Degree in English Literature and Linguistics from the University of Dhaka.
