Cooperation UWED with Japan International Cooperation Agency goes up to a new level

On 10th November negotiations took place in online between administration UWED and a new Head of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in Uzbekistan.

From Japan’s side Head of Representative JICA Mr. Miyazaki Tsuguru,  Coordinator of volunteers activity Ms. Mirie Utsumi took part in the negotiations.

Rector of University K.H. Karimov, vice-rector for International cooperation professor Saidkasimov S.S., head of Department for International cooperation    Mukhitdinov A.I., department chair of oriental languages Gafurova H.SH. represented UWED.

At the beginning of the conversation, Rector K.H.Karimov congratulated Mr. Miyazaki Tsuguru with the start of his activity in the position Head of Representative JICA in Uzbekistan and wished him further success in the work. Professor Saidkasimov S.S. pointed out greatly to JICA in realization several major projects of Japan government in Uzbekistan over the last 25 years including specifically in UWED.

For the period long-term successful cooperation between UWED and JICA a large number different activities have been carried out, particularly successful was contribution in organization professional study of Japan language, including active participating in this permanent voolonteers of JICA in UWED.

Gafurova H.SH. thanked JICA Coordinator of volunteers Ms. Utsumi for active participating JICA in the events dedicated to Japan culture. Ms. Utsumi, for it’s part, praised the learning Japan language in UWED and high level language proficiency by UWED students.

Mr. Miyazaki confirmed the commitment JICA of it’s recommendations on expansion mutual cooperation within the activities Analytical Center of researching Japan under UWED, in forces the base of University, that had been expressed by Mr. Tosaka JICA Director of the Department for Central Asian countries during the visit to UWED in the beginning 2020.

During the visit was discussed and other issues further expansion of cooperation with JICA, in particular , about volunteer programs, organizing and conducting traditional events  (Days of Japan), (Days of Japan culture) in UWED and etc. of important dates.

Representative of JICA expressed interest in active involvement of UWED experts on regional aspects of international political and economic relations of Central Asian countries and Caucasus to participate in seminars and consultations, organised by Japanese side.

UWED administration supported the initiative of doctor Kitaoka to host the large cycle events for the study and dissemination of Japan development experience.

In the short term scheduled to meet Head of Representative JICA in Uzbekistan Mr.  Miyazaki Tsuguru and  Coordinator of volunteers activity Ms. Utsumi with teachers and students of UWED.
