"If you exercise, you don't need medication."  These lines belong to our great ancestor Abu Ali ibn Sina, who laid the foundation stone of medicine.  Although this idea was stated ten centuries ago, modern medicine has scientifically proven how true this idea is.  Science has shown that a person who leads a healthy lifestyle and exercises regularly can live to be 100 or even 120 years old.

Great work is being done in our country to popularize sports and promote our people in sports.  Sports schools and sports complexes are being built and put into operation one after another.  Over the past 3 years, the number of sportsmen in the country has increased from 4.8 million to 5.6 million, including the number of young people under 30 under the age of 30 from 28.8% to 28.5%.

Yesterday, President Shavkat Miromonovich Mirziyoyev signed a decree "On measures for the widespread implementation of a healthy lifestyle and further development of mass sports."  The decree prioritizes walking, running, mini-football, cycling, badminton, streetball, and workout (neighborhood and street fitness) in the development of mass sports and promotion of a healthy lifestyle.  Within the framework of the decree, the e-wallet of a citizen of the Republic of Uzbekistan aged 18 and over, who walked 10,000 steps or more in one day in the territory of Uzbekistan, received 3,000 sums per month in each district (city).  300,000 sums per person, 500,000 sums for the person who travels the most in one area, and 1,000,000 sums for the person who travels the most in the Republic.

The decree stipulates that by November 15, 2020, projects for the establishment of health corridors for pedestrians and bicycles in each district and city will be created and presented to the population, and by May 1, 2021, these corridors will be completed.  .  In order to implement these projects, 1.4 trillion soums will be allocated from centralized capital investments within the investment program for 2021.  In addition, in 2021, 2 million soums will be allocated for 6,021 preschools and 5 million soums for 9,942 secondary schools to provide them with primary sports equipment and facilities.

In addition, the decree sets a number of other goals and objectives.  By 2025, the total number of people regularly engaged in physical culture and sports will reach 30%.

At our university, all conditions are created for the development of sports among students and their involvement in sports.  Currently, there is a sports complex on the territory of our university, which includes a winter swimming pool, mini football field, volleyball court, tennis court.  In addition, our university has a futsal field for futsal players and fitness halls for students who want to do fitness.  It is gratifying that the UWED sports club has been established at our university, and a number of sports clubs have been established to ensure that students can participate in any sport they want.  Boxing, football, baseball, volleyball, basketball and a number of other sports clubs are run by coaches who are masters of professional sports.

These reforms, which are being carried out in our country, are, of course, aimed at improving the health of the population, as well as creating the conditions for a healthy growth of the next generation, because the future of a country with healthy children is great!
