UWED expands cooperation with the Japanese University of Saitama

On September 15, 2020, regular on-line meetings of the heads and scientists of UWED and Saitama University took place.

Professor of the Faculty of Economics of the Saitama University Hiroyuki Taguchi, who is the main coordinator of cooperation with the Japanese university, detailed his project of upcoming events, including various forms and directions of interaction in the near future.

An agreement was reached to start online lectures, seminars and conferences of Japanese professors for UWED students in English and Japanese since October this year, their topics, frequency, forms and evaluation criteria of educational control have been clarified.

A decision was made to officially sign a Cooperation Agreement between UWED and Saitama University in the near future.

The UWED management also gratefully accepted the decision of Saitama University to allocate a grant for UWED researchers for doctoral studies with a scholarship from the Japanese government (MEXT).

For reference: Applications for this grant will begin in January 2021, and the selection process will continue until June next year. If successful, when a candidate with a sufficiently high level of proficiency, in addition to the specialty, also in Japanese and English, undergoes a difficult selection procedure, he will first enter as a researcher from October to March 2022, and then continue his studies for doctoral studies (PhD) from April 2022 year. Typically, a researcher earns a PhD from Saitama University for 3 years.
