On June 10, 2020, the First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Sodik Safaev held an online video conference with professors, doctoral students, researchers and students of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy.
The consequences of the pandemic and the actual issues of international relations were discussed.
In particular, the first Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis S. Safoyev shared his views on the general features of the coronavirus pandemic as a socio-economic and political phenomenon, its impact on the geopolitical, financial, economic, humanitarian and social spheres.
The impact of coronavirus on society and economic development was also explained at the meeting.
It was noted that the pandemic has strengthened collaboration between civil society and government agencies in Uzbekistan to eliminate the negative effects of the coronavirus epidemic.
In addition, University professors spoke of the importance of an integrated approach to addressing the effects of the coronavirus pandemic, as well as synergies in rethinking the effects of the pandemic.
During the meeting, answers were given to the participants of the meeting regarding the following stages of improving the welfare of the population of Uzbekistan, measures to combat the pandemic, the emergence of an epidemic and the prospects for regional cooperation in Central Asia.
