Online meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Republic of Turkey Agzamkhodjaev Alisher Anvarovich and with the diplomats of the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the topic “New challenges facing diplomats during the pandemic”

On May 15, 2020 on the online conference platform of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy online meeting was held among professors, undergraduate and graduate students as well as doctoral students of the University with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Republic in the Republic of Turkey, A. Agzamkhodjaev and with the diplomats of the Embassy.

During an online conversation A. Agzamhodjaev made a detailed speech on the history of relations between Uzbekistan and Turkey, the establishment of Strategic relationships. The meeting also touched upon the issues of comprehensive development of cooperation in investment, export and other spheres, the study of the exemplary experience of the Republic of Turkey in the field of tourism and construction as well as measures taken to reduce the negative impact of the COVID - 19 pandemic on the economy of our country.

In addition, several representatives of the Embassy also expressed their opinions at the online conference. In particular, Sh. Yigitaliev made a speech about the specifics of digital diplomacy and economic diplomacy along with the significance of "e-diplomacy" and "web-diplomacy" today. Sh. Ikramov informed about the problems faced by compatriots in Turkey in the current situation in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic and about the measures taken by the Embassy to solve them.

During the event, participants also showed an enthusiastic interest in the issues of mutual trade between Uzbekistan and Turkey, in particular, the prospects of signing an agreement on preferential trade between the two countries and also the diplomatic means that used in response to new challenges of the pandemic. This meeting left a good impression on all participants.
