The lecture in honor of the memory of the first President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov was held

On the 4th of September, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy the lecture in honor of the memory of the first President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov was held. The opening speech was delivered by the Rector A.Djumanov who announced a minute of silence to honor the memory of the President. Then Abdumalik Abduvakhabovich in his speech outlined the biography of Islam Karimov and also cited the works of the President which are dedicated to the prosperity of the country and national independence. The Rector presented the figures concerning achievements of our country for the years of independence. In conclusion, the Rector congratulated the first-year students on their admission to the University of World Economy and Diplomacy, and wished them good luck in their further studies. The next person, who gave a speech was the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Head of the Department, M.Aslanov, who spoke about the merits of the first President of the country and reminded the audience of the great honor of being the UWED student. He stressed the significance of the great tasks assigned to the students, to implement the ideas of the President of Uzbekistan, Islam Abduganievich Karimov, aimed at raising the authority of Uzbekistan on the international arena.
The Professors of the Department of Social and Human Studies of UWED R.Farmonov and E.Sultonova in their speeches also stated the political and economic achievements of our country over the years of independence and the great contribution of the first President Islam Karimov. In their welcoming speech the professors highlighted the words of the President “Tomorrow is in the hands of talented and ambitious young people”.
Then the video "Ertangi kun bizniki, Marra bizniki"(Tomorrow is ours and the victory belongs to us) was shown . The film was very impressive and touching for the whole audience.
