UWED students meet with diplomats from South Korea

Rector of the University of Korean Studies, former First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea prof. Ho-young AHN.

Prof. S.S. Saidkasymov, Vice-Rector for International Relations of the UWED, welcomed the respected veteran of South Korean diplomacy, and at his request he informed in detail about the deep transformations in the social development of the republic, revealed the novelty and essence of the fundamental reforms of President Sh.M. Mirziyoyev, answered numerous guest questions regarding the prospects for the development of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea, as well as the features of the upcoming election campaign in our country.

Mr. An Ho-Young, not only an experienced diplomat, but also a prominent economist, shared his deep knowledge in the field of economic diplomacy and the rapid economic growth of the Republic of Korea with young specialists and lecturers at the UWED.

The guest, using illustrative materials, thoroughly revealed the main problems and achievements of South Korea over the past half century, including the experience of overcoming the crisis of 1997 and 2008, as well as the features and consequences of the country's integration, its involvement in world economic and political processes.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Uzbekistan Mr. Kang Jae Kwon attended and spoke at the meeting.

During the discussion that took place in English, students and teachers received detailed answers to their questions.
