XII Annual Student Scientific Conference

On December 16, 2019, the XII Annual Student Scientific Conference took place which was dedicated to the day of adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the Constitution Day of the Republic of Uzbekistan and which was organized by the Legal Clinic of the UWED.

The conference was opened by the head of the Legal Clinic, Doctor of Law Ziyodulla Ubaidullaev. As well, Dean of the Faculty of International Law, Shukhrat Urunbaev, and curators of the Legal Clinic, Irina Cherkashina, associate professor of the department of International Private Law and Civil Law Disciplines, and Galina Mayorova, a current lawyer with 30 years of experience, made their speeches during the conference.

At the conference, 2-4-year students raised legal issues relevant to our society, such as: modern foreign policy of Uzbekistan and its legal aspects, women's rights and their guarantees, media independence, juvenile courts: the rationale to create them in Uzbekistan, regulation of administrative discretion, corruption issues and ways to combat it, protection of private property.

In addition, student speakers addressed topics of interest from the point of view of modern sciences: artificial intelligence, critical thinking, animal welfare, genetic engineering. The reports were vigorously discussed by the conference participants, the result was an exchange of experience and the acquisition of new knowledge.
